Mr. Cavendish, I Presume
Mr. Cavendish, I Presume | Julia Quinn
4 posts | 31 read | 4 to read
Amelia Willoughby has been engaged to the Duke of Wyndham for as long as she can remember. Literally. A mere six months old when the contracts were signed, she has spent the rest of her life waiting. And waiting. And waiting . . . for Thomas Cavendish, the oh-so-lofty duke, to finally get around to marrying her. But as she watches him from afar, she has a sneaking suspicion that he never thinks about her at all . . .It's true. He doesn't. Thomas rather likes having a fianceall the better to keep the husband-hunters at bayand he does intend to marry her . . . eventually. But just when he begins to realize that his bride might be something more than convenient, Thomas's world is rocked by the arrival of his long-lost cousin, who may or may not be the true Duke of Wyndham. And if Thomas is not the duke, then he's not engaged to Amelia. Which is the cruelest joke of all, because this arrogant and illustrious duke has made the mistake of falling in love . . . with his own fiance!

I‘m planning to binge on Julia Quinn romances for #BacklistReadathon, so she‘s my entire #WeeklyForecast. 😂

KristiAhlers Happy Reading. Her books are always fun. Not too serious. 13mo

Whew! I‘m down to an hour to go for #24in48. Yesterday I cruised through the hours, today it‘s been a bit slower. But, I‘ll make the 24 hour goal this round! 🙌🏼 I‘ve finished 4 books (2 physical, 2 audio) & now I need light & frivolous. I‘m not that big of a romance reader, but I ADORE Julia Quinn. Her books have made me laugh out loud, they‘re intelligent, fun & have great characters - she‘s described as the modern Jane Austen, I‘d agree.

Pickpick

I remember reading this the first time and being enamored by the cover but the more times I read it, the more I love it.
Thomas is a fool for a realizing too late that he had love right in front of him but it's a good thing Amelia's not

My heart friend gave me this perfect mug for sipping coffee while I edit today. But I guarantee it will be filled with tea later this evening as I sip from it while reading 📖
