I feel like I‘ve been away from Litsy for months! We finally moved into our new house a week ago and I‘ve been so busy getting things set up. Happy Monday everyone! 🤗

1. Novelist 📚🤓
2. Hard to pick, I‘d be cool with either! How about a used bookstore? 🤔
3. Inspiration for a character — would be so cool!
4. Ugh! Rip it? Then at least maybe I can upcycle it 😱

Thanks for the tag @Eggs ! 🤗

1. Margaret Mitchell/Stephen King (I know, quite the contrast!😱).
2. Definitely a night in! 🤓
3. Anything set in the 1920s during the flapper era is my fave. Also love reading stories set during the Depression in the early 1930s.
4. Anyone who hasn't done it yet! (Sorry, I'm a bit behind). ☺️

Pickpick

The novella Lost Laysen features a love triangle between two men and a fiercely independent young woman. Sounds familiar? Novella itself is a so-so; it's a bit too melodramatic for me. But Mitchell was only 16 when she wrote it and gave it to Henry Love Angel, pictured above w/ her. This volume is an overall pick for GWTW fans, b/c of accompanying photos & letters between the two in the fascinating introduction to the novella. #gwtwreadalong 👇

ValerieAndBooks I also couldn't help but think that Margaret Mitchell resembled Scarlett in looks and personality. 7y
DivineDiana So fascinating! 7y
LitHousewife I have this, but I've never read it. I'm adding it to my list. 7y

rubyslippersreads @ValerieAndBooks I read an article once (can't remember where) that said there was a mirror over her typewriter, so she might very well have been describing her face when she described Scarlett's. 7y
Reviewsbylola I'll definitely need to pick this up. 7y
ValerieAndBooks @DivineDiana @LitHousewife @Reviewsbylola it's a very quick read! @rubyslippersreads that would make sense! I finally found the bio that was in my TBR, so I'll keep an eye out for any reference to that. 7y

Margaret Mitchell scandalized society at a dance, just as Scarlett did. #gwtwreadalong

MicheleinPhilly Last night a Jeopardy clue said that Scarlett's name was originally supposed to be Pansy O'Hara. I giggled. 7y
ValerieAndBooks @MicheleinPhilly 😂! Scarlett is a much better-fitting name for her isn't it?! That reminds me I have this book in my TBR 7y
MayJasper Ooh I say 😳 7y
Reviewsbylola Sounds like she can certainly relate to her heroine! 7y
Hollie I didn't know that! Awesome! 7y

Have any of you #GWTWreadalong peeps read this? I did, when it first came out in 1996 -- published soon after the manuscript was found among Mitchell's old beau's belongings hidden for years. This volume includes the story behind that, several previously unpublished photos, and the very short novella itself. Guess what I'm reading today! Also going crazy trying to find the biography I have of Mitchell that's been in my TBR for years!

Lcsmcat I've read it, but so long ago that I don't remember much about it. 7y
Reviewsbylola I have not! I'll be interested in your review! 7y
Jess_Read_This The sweet IG bookseller I bought my copy of GWTW included this book as a freebie! I haven't read it yet but I'm looking forward to your review! 7y
ValerieAndBooks @Lcsmcat I don't remember much of the plot either! I should be done by tonight. So the review will be soon, @Reviewsbylola 😊. @Jess_Read_This wow, how nice of the seller to include this as a freebie! 7y
