pickI wish there was “Pick” and then “Super-Pick”, because this was more than a so-so, but not in the same league as my last read The Heart‘s Invisible Furies... It‘s a pick as it was a gripping page turner. It was brutal though - about the breakdown of a marriage and the death of a child. However it also veered into psychological thriller and some of those parts were just bizarre. I like this author‘s writing, but much preferred Apple Tree Yard.

ChloeTallis Hahaha! Yes it was! I was just reading your review thinking...hmm did I read this? Vicky hated the fact that she ended up sleeping with the guy!! We had a debate about it haha. I liked the last page again (as with her other!) but I sooo agree we need another rating between so-so and pick! 😘 @JillR 6y

DivaDiane I agree. I wish there was more differentiation. I like Goodreads actual scale if you follow it. I give very few 5-stars, but lots of 4s and 3s (I guess because I manage to pick pretty good books to read!). 6y
AshleyHoss820 I agree with you! Maybe a Life-Changer button because some books do that! I‘m with @DivaDiane I give out a lot of three stars on GR, which means I liked the book. But 5 stars I save for Desert-Island Books! 6y
