Further Tales of the City
Further Tales of the City | Armistead Maupin
5 posts | 32 read | 4 to read
The calamity-prone residents of 28 Barbary Lane are at it again in this deliciously dark novel of romance and betrayal. While Anna Madrigal imprisons an anchorwoman in her basement, Michael Tolliver looks for love at the National Gay Rodeo, DeDe Halcyon Day and Mary Ann Singleton track a charismatic psychopath across Alaska, and society columnist Prue Giroux loses her heart to a derelict living in San Francisco park.

Pickpick

3rd in the series about Mrs madrigal and her family; Mary Ann, Michael, and Brian as we move into a 1982 san Francisco with the characters a little older and life changing. Joyous, funny, and wonderful characters this bk centres on a mystery out of the jonestown massacre and in its short chapters + compelling narrative had me wishing I'd read it when it came out and desperate to read the next.
I think as I go to bed I read 5 hrs today #24in4

1-13-21: My 5th finished book of 2021! Book 3 in the series finds us back on Barbary Lane with Mrs. Madrigal and her “children” now in their 30s. It‘s the early 1980s in San Fran and there is love, kidnapping, Jonestown escapees, a cruise to Alaska, a gay rodeo and a hot news story to name just a few of the fun moments. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #furthertalesofthecity #armisteadmaupin 👍🏼📖#️⃣5️⃣

Currently reading. I went dancing in a club at the top of the Transamerica Building when I was much younger 😀

I really enjoyed tales of the city but haven't yet read the next two on the series despite owning them. The joy of these threads are they prompt you to remember books you have hiding away ready to read.

Centique I love Armistead Maupin but it's been 20 years since I read these 😬 Must buy myself a set and reread. Thanks for reminding me! 8y
