One of those books about “haunted houses” but for me was more drama or stories about the families that lived in that house. A “pinch” of paranormal element, but for me was more superstitions. Apparently the house is cursed and people died in the house. There are some historical information about the area and author gives references. Still, I enjoyed it but not loved it. Not scary, it is more a suspense & mystery. 3.4⭐️It has better rating in GR.
Excellent historical fiction set in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. A family, with a lot of struggles, buys an old, abandoned mansion when they relocate from Boston. They renovate the house in immaculate style and quickly begin experiencing strange occurrences. The tragic stories of the families who previously lived in the house are weaved throughout the book. The floor plans of the house are included.
After buying and renovating a huge, old house, a family then encounters some odd goings-on after moving in. Is it haunted? Is something else happening? Good creep factor with the house‘s history told through 4 previous families. There was an odd info dump near the end in the oldest story line that didn‘t quite work for me, but otherwise I enjoyed it.

I‘m actually kind of bummed our power is back on. I was enjoying reading this creepy/possibly haunted house book by flashlight and without phone distractions.
No One‘s Home @d.m.pulley Has anyone read this? Sounds like a great spooky read to curl up with on the dark days of Fall & Winter! Perfect for fans of The Haunting of Hill house! Who‘s ready for season 2 of The Haunting of Hill house? 🙌 @thehaunting @netflix ☕️📖 Instagram at castrojeannette
This is a little late but I just finished today, it is the best haunted house book I've read in a long time 👀 Thanks to #netgalley for a review copy.
This book reminds me very much of The Haunting of Hill House in that it is the house who is watching...the house described in the form of a human body; the wood it‘s tired bones, the windows as eyes watching... also in true Haunting of Hill House fashion, the reader is left to wonder if this is truly a haunting of the supernatural or of one‘s own mind.
Wow the imagery in this book is on point. Really loving it so far.
Starting this one now. Hoping it‘s spooky enough for my liking. 📚👻☠️🧟♀️
