I was so excited to read this book! I met some Falcons and their handlers when I was living in Germany, the birds are beautiful and falconry seemed very interesting but I had no idea. This book was a fascinating look at the birds, their habits & habitats, the sports they are involved in, collecting ( of both birds & eggs), collectors and market. All of that information is given in a very intriguing narrative style. Thank you #netgalley pub 2/20

I decided to take a little break from my nonfiction reads and spent my snowy day with this enticing ARC from #netgalley 💗 I loved this story set mostly in 1911's Coney Island and I loved the main character Peggy! It took some time with character development and setting up the story so it isn't an on the edge of your seat mystery/thriller but I totally felt wrapped up in the story. Pub. Date January 16, 2020

rubyslippersreads I just got this ARC (mainly because of the main character‘s name. 😊) Glad to hear it‘s good. 2d

-picture from 1 of my trips to the Louvre-This is hard to give feedback on, mainly because I am just not the right kind of reader for this book. This no doubt a thorough and well researched book, it was full of detail, too much detail for me, I got lost in all the facts fairly early on and it was a little overwhelming. I would recommend this for avid history and/or architecture fans. Thank you #netgalley for ARC to review, release in May 2020

Cinfhen Uh ohhhh...just got this ARC 😬 4d
Maude @Cinfhen , it wasn't a bad book, just very heavy on dates and military/political history. I'm horrible in those areas, I zone out 😊 4d
Cinfhen It sounds a little to dry for me too...I guess I‘m about to find out 4d

This is precisely the type of memoir I love, one that feels like you are sitting with someone interesting and hearing their stories. I very much liked this look into a different time, place and life! I would highly recommend to anyone that enjoys memoirs, history, royalty. I believe the release date is in March. Thank you #netgalley for a review arc.

I didn't know a lot about the Krays, I knew the name and a bit from a movie I saw over 20 years ago. This book did a great job of filling in all the details. It was a little intimidating at times because there was so much info and it was all unfamiliar to me, as I have not read much about gangsters, that era or setting but I enjoy learning new things. Thank you #netgalley for a copy of ebook to review.

I really enjoyed this, it was well researched and full of so many interesting details not just about Sophie but her times, settings, society around her and people in her life. I appreciate such a fully painted picture and the book really shows how impressive her life was. Thank you #netgalley for review copy.

A lot of scary information in this book and most of it was more human incompetence than nuclear energy itself!! I think audio was definitely the way to go as it could be a bit dry at times and it threw a lot of facts out at you.

This is a hard book to read and put down at the same time. Definite trigger warning!! I can't say much about it without spoilers but do think it had some important points, I'll put in comments with spoiler tag. Thank you #netgalley for a review copy.

Maude There is sexual assault in this book both of females and males, I think that male sexual assault/abuse is never really addressed and this book did. I think it is important to put out there that males can suffer from relationship/spousal/sexual abuse as well. 2w

I really disliked this, a mediocre memoir at best, it was boring and disturbing at the same time. She writes about her family history like a grocery list. There is absolutely no emotion, not even when she adds a victim's name to the list. If you want a true crime book or insight into what living with a serial killer was like this is not your book. Thanks to #netgalley for providing an ebook for review.

I always look forward to Mark Lages books but I never know what to expect, each one I've read is excellent and entirely different from the others. This one I particularly enjoyed because, I am a mother of young adult son, this story was one I can relate to and it felt so very real. Any parent of a teen can probably relate to the feelings/ experiences in this book in some way, I think.

This had a lot of potential, I really liked the setting and concept. Unfortunately I did not enjoy reading it, the writing was very choppy and confusing. I felt like the story was too disjointed to really slip into and the pacing was all off. I don't think the writing was particularly bad, just unpolished, like reading a rough draft. I would definitely try more by this author even though I didn't enjoy this book. Thank you #netgalley

This was an interesting and sad look at how dogs end up in need of rescue, specially if you are unaware of how badly animals are treated in the USA still. I'm biased as someone that volunteers and fosters for animal shelters and a rescue mom myself (Bryson in the pic was a police confiscation from a meth lab #dogsoflitsy). I hope books like this will encourage more people to get involved and improve our overall animal welfare in this country.

Gaylagal2 He's so adorable! All my fur babies are rescues and awesome! It's so sad and unnecessary the people who "buy" dogs. If you look and/or go to an animal shelter, you will have zero problems finding the breed you'd like to have. They all need homes ?❤️ 2mo
