I just love Roxane Weary. Her character has evolved a lot over the course of this series, and I enjoy spending time with this whip smart and flawed PI. This mystery centers around religious and political ideologies, which was unexpected, but timely. Fast-paced and full of twists, this was a great addition to the series. Not knowing was hard for me. It always was. I was too nosy, too hungry for the why.

I just love this mystery series. I just tore through the first 4 books in the series and can‘t wait for Lepionka to write the next one. Solid mysteries, fleshed out evolving characters and just great story lines make these books so hard to put down.

Why do I love Roxane Weary? Shes feisty and vulnerable, she's smart and witty, and she keeps plugging away. ? "Roxane gets knocked down but she gets up again, you're never gonna keep her down" ?
Why do I love Kristen Lepionka? She created Roxane, she writes smart mysteries, and she just lit the fuse on a new plot line that I dearly hope will be further developed in Book 5. ?❤️?

Roxane Weary mysteries are officially my favourite ongoing series! Lepionka delicately balances page-turning pacing, intricate and twisty plot, and complex fascinating characterization. Her current case is a so-called hiking accident that leads to investigating a culty fundamentalist church, a Canadian casino, & a charismatic politician who runs a women's health organization. I also love the representation of Roxane's bisexuality. I feel seen!
