Taking a chance at the library today and buying a mystery pack of books... Exciting! (Had to renew my checkout for pressure because I hadn't gotten a chance to start it)

The pacing was off for me. Too many slow bits.

Not a bad story if you like sci-fi/fantasy but it felt like he was trying to cram too many plots into one story. I felt like it would have been better if he had focused on one plot and really dug into it instead of doing multiple ones and having them all be short.

Eh. Parts of it I really enjoyed. The ending felt forced a bit, like it was just time to wrap it up. I didn't realize that the author has such an extensive back catalogue, I'll definitely check some out, hopefully more impressive than this one. Unless you are a fan, I might skip it.
