The Illustrated Bestiary: Guidance and Rituals from 36 Inspiring Animals | Maia Toll
5 posts | 2 read | 3 to read
People across cultures and through the centuries have felt a spiritual, symbolic connection to animals. In The Illustrated Bestiary, author and spiritual wellness guide Maia Toll turns the insight and wisdom that birthed The Illustrated Herbiary her best-selling volume on the mystical power of plants to the animal kingdom. Through profiles highlighting 36 animals most meaningful traits, Toll explores how those qualities can illuminate our habits, guide our intentions, and inform our actions. Spring Peepers ability to reemerge from frozen hibernation can inspire us to reinvent ourselves. Katydids five eyes can lend clarity of vision when we need to see the bigger picture. Rituals and reflections guide readers in cultivating each animals energy, while 36 oracle cards featuring art by Kate OHara further shape readers meditations. From the humble House Mouse to the magnificent Elephant, this beautifully illustrated guide to animal spirits provides new ways of connecting with the creatures that walk, crawl, slither, swim, and fly. This publication conforms to the EPUB Accessibility specification at WCAG 2.0 Level AA.

My husband had his surgery yesterday. Surgery itself went ok, he is a fair bit worse for ware today kind you, but the whole experience wasn‘t good. We had a plan agreed to by the hospital to make sure his was ok…being autistic with severe anxiety. The hospital staff gaslighted and dismissed everything and the plan wasn‘t fully followed. And the only male involved (a dr) was such an entitled misogynist that he has triggered my cptsd. Argh.

Deblovestoread I‘m so sorry you and your husband were not heard and not given what you need during this time. I hope he heals well and other staff will be kinder. 2y
Suet624 Oh gosh. I‘m so sorry. 2y

Bookwomble That sounds like a bad experience for you both. I do hope the nursing staff are more sensitive, professional and caring 💗 2y
Darklunarose @Bookwomble two were good, the rest…not great, the only man involved was a nightmare. We went through weeks to get things in black and white and then bang, they don‘t care. They have a load to learn when it comes to disability care. 2y
Clare-Dragonfly Ugh, I‘m so sorry you had such a bad experience. It‘s hard enough to be going through medical stuff—the humans involved should be trying to make it easier! 2y
Darklunarose @Clare-Dragonfly ❤️ I couldn‘t agree more. 2y
DaveGreen7777 I‘m so sorry you all went through that! 😔 2y
