This is a really fun book that lets you look at a variety of different types of information all in a map style of display. Sometimes you don‘t fully understand the weight of a piece of information until it‘s displayed in a certain way and this book really helps to jot that message home. It clearly contains some very politically leaning topics but that‘s due to the nature of what topics people make political.

This was an interesting and fun romp through the world. I love maps and I love trivia (whether it‘s useful or completely random) so this was a definite pick for me.

I will say that I‘m disappointed by the map pictured above... only 3 states show a higher preference for cats over dogs?!? C‘mon. The internet definitely proves otherwise 😹

Eyelit @Soubhiville @ThePageantHam found it immediately after hanging up! Lol. 5y
Jess861 I love maps - I'm going to have to find this book at some point! 5y
Soubhiville And it‘s VT and NH, where I grew up! We had lots of cats when I was a kid, way more than dogs. Who wants to have to walk a dog in those winters? Not me! 5y
Exbrarian Litsy's extrovert vs introvert ratio is skewed from the world at-large. I imagine it's the same for cats vs dogs. 5y

True love 🥰

Adored this book! The maps are engaging, colorful, fun, and interesting. There were all kinds of miscellaneous tidbits mapped out: dogs vs cats, religious affiliations, imports by country, etc. Enjoyable read. Perfect for anyone who loves maps, trivia, or both! 😊

As some who likes data, maps and pretty colors this was a fun book. Some of the maps weren't the most well thought out, but I thought most of them were pretty interesting!

According to this book on maps I'm currently cataloging, South Dakota is one of two states where cats are more popular than dogs. 🤔

TiredLibrarian Only 2? 😿 5y
keithmalek This has been on my TBR. How is it? 5y
AmandaL I got this for my son for Christmas! But I'll probably read it before I wrap it for him. 😄 5y
ljuliel I would think digs would be handier out there. You know, for farms and such ? 5y
nitalibrarian @keithmalek I didn't do a thorough read, just browsed while I cataloged it. But lots of interesting and different maps. I learned the Pacific Ocean is larger than all the land put together on Earth. 5y

Riveted_Reader_Melissa It‘s so clear on a map, and yet we still agree about things like health care with mental health care included, better standards of living for all, etc like it‘s all just random opinions with no supporting facts.🙄 5y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa Stacking this book too, by the way! 5y
Hooked_on_books Wow, look at Russia! And you always hear about Chicago and St Louis being so dangerous, but neither of their states has as many homicides as Louisiana. Interesting. 5y
