The Yellow Bird Sings | 
pickA very powerful novel following Roza and her daughter Shira as they flee from the Nazis. I found the first section, as they hide in a barn for months, particularly claustrophobic. It is clear from the afterword how much research the author did and the care she took to intertwine real people‘s stories into her novel.
