Weyward: A Novel | Emilia Hart

Choosing my top read of January was a little tough this month. I had three 5 ⭐️ reads that are each incredible in their own way. In the end, I choose Weyward. Not because it was better, more powerful or stronger writing then the other two, but because I felt a little more connection to it. #BookBracket #BookOfTheYear. FYI… I don‘t know who created the bracket, but thank you 😊

MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm I‘m using this bracket too and I‘m very grateful for the extra spaces for when I‘m torn between books. @CSeydel created this one. ☺️❤️ 11mo
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks I loved Weyward! 11mo
Littlewolf1 @MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm yes, it is a great bracket. I kinda feel like we need one for our least favorite books now to… just saying @CSeydel 😁. No but for real love this… thank you for putting together. 11mo

Littlewolf1 @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks right! It was just so a powerful and beautifully written story. 11mo
MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm Ooh, I didn‘t even think about tracking my least favorites! 🤔 That would definitely be interesting. 11mo
CSeydel Oh no 😬 … but maybe 🤔 11mo

Steppenwolf | Hermann Hesse

It was hard choosing between this one and The Starless Sea, so I slept one night over it and decided that Hesse's Steppenwolf already spoke to me when I was younger. It spoke to me again. And it will later again, I'm sure. It's a book that will accompany me through my whole life. Therefore it is going to be my Book of the Year 2023.

Suet624 I should read this again. 12mo
Jari-chan @Suet624 I can only recommend - it's a book that shows you something different every time you read it 😊 12mo

Megabooks I think Daisy Jones is overrated and A Woman Is No Man is a gem. I haven‘t read the other three. Will definitely check out your post. @Reviewsbylola 5y
MicheleinPhilly @megabooks Completely agree about Daisy. 5y

#BOTM book of the year voting time! There were so many books that I loved on the list to choose from and still more that I am excited to read but at the end of the day TJR is my favorite author and Daisy Jones did not disappoint at all!

What book did you all vote for? #botmbookoftheyear #bookoftheyear

shellleigh33 I won this book on a goodreads giveaway before it was released and loved it then and still do!! This author has since became one of my favorite authors. I always recommend this book or Evelyn Hugo to anyone that is asking for a new book recommendation!! 5y
TheLibrarian I voted for Daisy Jones too! 5y
Book_ish @shellleigh33 me too! I read her first book Forever Interrupted a few years ago right after it came out and when she would release a new book I was vaguely aware and would read it and I would love each book more and more until I realized I needed all of her books the day they were published! Lol 5y
Book_ish @TheLibrarian I‘m not going to lie there were so many good ones this year that they made it difficult! 5y
The_Heeler_Booklife So many good choices, but I chose Daisy Jones as well. 5y

Last year I only read a couple of books and I kept telling myself that I should be reading more. So, this year I‘m planning to read a couple of books per month. Hopefully read between 30-50 books in 2019. The last book was so good that I read it in just a few days. This new one also looks promising, since it was @bookofthemonth‘s 2018 #bookoftheyear. #circe #greekmithology #fiction #metoo #goddess #bookstagram #bookworm #books📚

Mrs.C I just ordered this one! I can‘t wait to read it! 6y
exentricone @Tashaxlynn it‘s got great reviews. I just started it today. 6y
Mrs.C @exentricone , let me know what you think when you finish! 6y

exentricone @Tashaxlynn I don‘t understand the hype. It was boring and uneventful. The story led nowhere and was not interesting. I forced myself to finish it. This book was a drag. 6y
Mrs.C @exentricone nooo! That‘s disappointing! 6y
exentricone @Tashaxlynn don‘t let that stop you from reading it, there are a lot of people out there who loved the book but I just couldn‘t get into it. I found myself constantly wandering off. Maybe I went into it expecting too much. 6y
Mrs.C @exentricone I‘ll definitely still give it a shot and see if I think any differently! Thanks for the heads up! 6y
