I hope Tchaikovsky writes some more about these tiny street-smart living puppets and their rogue band of human friends. I could definitely read a whole series about them 😍
pickA cool little novella about an underground society of marionettes in a world brimming with magic. Most humans have a touch of magic, and those with the most (or the money to buy enough trinkets to be convincing) rule over the rest. Entertaining with an honest ending.

In less than 200 pages, Adrian Tchaikovsky creates a magical Dickensian world where people have names like Auntie Countless and Lucas Maulhands, introduces us to a complex society of tiny golems, and delivers a cracking adventure.
There was a truly lovely #LGBTQ moment at the end as well.
Highly recommended and only $4 on Kindle.

A young puppeteer street thief and two homunculi form an uneasy partnership and ultimately work together to take on a convocation of mages. Such a fun little novella. The metal homunculi Arc in particular is a hoot.
