A new cozy mystery because I need some cozy right now.
Fun. But character is kind of dumb
I‘d give this book a rating of 3.5/5….I enjoyed it but some of it seemed repetitive.
Enjoyable cozy overall, though Jill was sometimes a bit annoying. After receiving an unexpected inheritance, she spent the majority of the book fretting over whether or not she deserved it, which led to poor choices and police investigation interference. Spoke to her character, but it still got old pretty quick. Decent mystery, interesting characters, set in what felt like a believable town. I can see reading more of this series.

This reminded me a lot of the Booktown Mystery series by Lorna Barrett. The similarities were striking! But the story was quite different. While I liked the MC Jill, her choices grated sometimes. I found myself annoyed with how she thought she knew better than others, and it was often the opposite. Still, I guess this helped to make the mystery mysterious. Not sure I'll continue with the series, but it was an entertaining read on its own. 3/5⭐️
I got this one on a kindle deal, and while it had a lot of elements I enjoyed, the writing really dragged it down. It felt disorganized, and the characters felt underdeveloped; it also repeated itself a LOT. I was beginning to think that if the MC had one more internal monologue about how her love interest was supposedly married, I'd have to put it down. However, the setting was nice and I loved the house that played a big part in the plot. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
After finishing student teaching, installing a permanent art installation, graduating, and starting a new job all in the last WEEK, I am on vacation in DC! Bring on the TBR backlogs.
Pretty good cozy mystery with a fun romantic plot line. Just the brain candy I needed to get chill out of my spine from The Good House.
