panOverall it wasn't bad - There was some cute but awkward moments, and I fell for the tall blond German hero that could give Ragnar a run for his money but I just felt that something was off between the two characters.
Some pieces worked but overall it was ok for me which is kinds sad because I wanted to love this so much. I really did but a lot of this book didn't work for me so goodbye Axel, who comes across as sounding like a marauding Viking 😉
so-soI had high hopes for this but was left sadly unsatisfied. Rena & Axel@could have been great with some effort but between the barely-there plot, and some questionable character descriptions, it fell mostly flat. I teeter between a “so-so” and a “pan”, but there were just enough cutesy moments for me to go “eh!”. If your looking for a very fluffy read with a HEA to whisk your mind away from all the world‘s crazy, it‘ll do.
panThe characters felt flat. The plot was nonexistent. I tired of the “I don‘t understand how to woo a woman” thread. But cute cover!
Trying to calm my anxiety before work by reading. The governor in my state closed all public schools but wants early childhood centers to stay open. So off to work I go this morning trying to keep myself safe as well as a group of two year olds with more restrictions added to what we already have to do while trying to keep it as normal as possible for my littles! I just want to stay home in a bubble and read!

panI‘ve read two of Marie Hartes previous series and loved them, but her newer books are a struggle for me. Perhaps I would have enjoyed this more in print as I found myself annoyed by Axel‘s accent. Axel and arena made a cute couple, but Axel‘s motivations for the gifts were so confusing. I‘d recommend her earlier books over this one.

This is a very fun romance. Rena is a romantic who has just opened up a salon, and Axel is the intimidating auto shop owner who has a crush on her. I didn't realize this was part of a series when I picked it up, but everything made sense and I still really enjoyed it. I'll have to go back and read the rest of the series now.
