Love Em Or Lose Em
Love Em Or Lose Em: Getting Good People to Say | Beverly Kaye
1 post | 1 read | 1 to read
The latest edition of the bestselling book on employee retention and engagement in the world - more than 500,000 copies of the previous editions have been sold. Completely revised and updated throughout, with two brand new sections. Presents 26 strategies, from A to Z, that managers at every level can use immediately to stem the talent drain. With every employee who walks out the door costing the company up to 200% of their annual salary to replace, retention is one of the most important issues facing businesses today. And with so many surveys reporting that employees are unhappy and not working up to their full potential, engagement becomes a second serious and costly issue. The latest edition of this Wall Street Journal bestseller offers 26 simple strategies - from A to Z - that managers can use to address their employees real concerns and keep them engaged. The fourth edition has been extensively revised and updated throughout and includes two new sections. The first, Top Ten Push backs, features answers to the most common concerns that managers have raised about the Love Em or Lose Em approach. The second new section, Got More? Is a compilation of anecdotes, quotations and research findings that support the Love Em or Lose Em message. Love 'Em or Lose 'Em may also be purchased by chapters from Fast Fundamentals: The BK Whitepaper Series.

Question for you all: what's your day job and are you passionate about it? Had an interesting conversation with my boss about not getting stuck somewhere you don't love that has me curious about what other people do and how they enjoy it.

abbiereadsbooks For me, I work in marketing for a small tech corporation, but I'd love to write for a magazine or review books for a living. 8y
Karli I work for the US government. And I don't love my job, but I'm proud of my knowledge and the agency. I'm hoping to move into a role of public affairs where I'd write and teach more and get yelled at less... 8y
QuoteQueen Right now I'm a SAHM & my hubs (veteran) caregiver. I honestly hate it. It's not what I'm meant to do. I'm changing that. I'm working on a MS in marriage & family therapy and co-founded a NP for veteran families. This is where my passion lies. & can't wait till I can get there! 8y

abbiereadsbooks @VeteransWife512 That's so awesome! I need to figure out how I can move from where I am (which is fine but doesn't excite me) to where I really want to be. Good luck on your degree! 8y
Carol Cataloger in a public library. Also run a bunch of our social media accounts for. My days are filled with brand new YA, picture books, music, and memes. It's pretty much the best. 8y
QuoteQueen Thanks @abbiereadsbooks ! I've finished the academic portion now onto internship...if I can find someone who will have me. 😜 8y
abbiereadsbooks @Carol That sounds amazing! I think I would love being a librarian. I should've thought of that in college! 8y
NatalieR I'm a therapist specializing in drug abuse & criminality in a prison. Absolutely love my job!!! 🔑💊 8y
Chrys Actually it's a night job 😄 I'm a nurse working primarily with cardiac patients 🏥 8y
Ellsbeth I'm in education and I love it. I'm currently moving from teaching in a field I believe is important but not personally exciting to a position teaching something important about which I am vey passionate. The change is very good for me so far. 8y
Ellsbeth @Karli My husband used to work for a federal agency. They certainly can do things differently. He traded out for a job with a lower paycheck with less bureaucracy and is now much happier. 8y
