B: #AtoZchallege it‘s absolutely freezing in Chicago and I‘d still rather be here than on an island with this unlucky bunch. This book was so original and suspenseful i finished it in one sitting. Any recommendations for books starting with a C??

Oh man this was definitely over the top plot-wise with caricature characters but I devoured (hey yo!) it

They keep describing heroin as a worm in their brain which is odd. I know nothing firsthand of heroin, just friends gone too early and living in a shadier neighborhood in my early 20's but that doesn't sound quite accurate. Still definitely an absorbing if not brilliant read.

#currentlyreading Some mysterious outfit (government? military? bored rich people? whoever is responsible for those gross anthropomorphized lungs anti-smoking commercials?) is kidnapping small groups of heroin addicts to a remote island in the Florida keys with their fix stationed on another island through shark infested waters waiting for them to succumb to the desperation of withdrawal

Zelma That sounds over-the-top and just my kind of book (given the right mood)! 7y
parasolofdoom @Zelma that's exactly what it is! A sort of ridiculous "beach read" (for certain types), pulpy horror that can scratch a certain itch. It's going by quickly 7y

If you're you're craving a tense, thrilling, at least somewhat-scary type of book right now, then you'll definitely want to add Bait, by J. Kent Messum, to your list. There's a lot to love in this novel, but my favourite aspect is the way Messum is able to get the reader to sympathize with his characters. #WhatToRead #booklover #thriller #adultfiction

RadicalReader @MirandaB016 this sounds like an interesting read! I love how the cover looks like a sinking ship 7y
