It‘s a good quick read; it‘s only 28 pages. I listened to the audiobook. I don‘t like reading stories in first person and it‘s only the second one I‘ve ever read, but it didn‘t bother me though. I liked the ending; it was hopeful.

This is a clever short story set in Massachusetts in early 1900s. Growing up, Adeline is told “not to say a word” by her adulterous mom. But when she is witness to a murder, can she find her voice??

i devoured this short story via audible this afternoon. feel like it left more to be desired but maybe that‘s just because i was into the story and accustomed to big hearty novels 😅 #shortstory #audiobook
I‘ve never read an Alice Hoffman novel and for that I am embarrassed. I am now a fan for life.
I devoured this beautiful little novella this evening with both tears and love in tow. A sorrowful read with excellent character development.
This is book 1 of 5 from Amazon Originals “Inheritance”. Each book in this short story series is written by a different writer. I look forward to them all.
EVERYTHING MY MOTHER TAUGHT ME by @ahoffmanwriter
A beautifully written short story about a young woman and the mother who doesn't deserve her.

“I was so unaccustomed to such emotions, it took some time before I realized I was happy.”
Great short story! The story discusses Adeline living with an unloving mother after her father‘s death. She chooses not to speak anymore, which only makes things worse. But it‘s only a matter of time, through twists of loyalty and betrayal, before Adeline gets her happy ending.
“Everything My Mother Taught Me” is an impressive little story with a strong leading character. For such a quick read, this story packs a punch and I‘d recommend giving it a try, it‘s only short after all!
