My my my, even though I sort of knew who the bad guy might be, this story hit me hard. Montalbano is sent letters title treasure hunt. And hes mentoring a young friend of Ingrids too. This is one of Camilleri's best

This was quite a unique and original opening to a book, very different to other books in the series. As a result this book hooked me from the very outset. Very gentle through a large part of the book but comes to quite a deadly conclusion. As entertaining, light and humorous as always but with quite a serious element to it. One or two parts of the book made me laugh out loud. I do like spending time with great group of characters. Onto #17.

Starting the next book in the Inspector Montalbano Series, unbelievably this is Book 16 in the series. Love this he quirky nature of these books and the group of characters pulled together. Most definitely recommend them.

lahousewyfe Montalbano is one of my very favorite detectives! 6y
Crazeedi Why do you keep posting such interesting series??? And how do you manage to read them all? This one sounds right up my alley, an Italian setting😊😉 you never cease to amaze me! Thank you much! (edited) 6y
CarolynM Love this series, although the last few I've read have included some rather odd behaviour on the Inspector's part. 6y

Andrew65 @lahousewyfe Mine too, such a great character. 6y
Andrew65 @CarolynM Yes he does seem capable of the odd! 6y
Andrew65 @Crazeedi 😂😂😂 To quote Men At Work, ‘I said to the man are you trying to tempt me‘. I found this series by accident, picked up two books from later in the series whilst staying on a camp site from their second hand books swap selection because I liked the look of the covers and was hooked. They are translations but very well done. Very quick reads, not much more than four hours. Most books I read take about 8 - 9 hours. Been reading for years. (edited) 6y
Crazeedi @Andrew65 I will definitely be looking into them . I have also been reading for years! Read the encyclopedias for fun as a youth😊 and counted the pages in a book when I was 2. So I know your deep love for reading. I guess the books I tend to pick are more pages mostly, I'm drawn to them . Happy reading Andrew. I'm glad for all you share 6y
Andrew65 @Crazeedi I tend to read quite a wide variety of books but love returning to my detective books, and thrillers, mystery and Suspense. I like a story that moves along at pace with great characters and good dialogue. Get bored with too much description. 6y

Day 2 of my birthday month and I woke up to a little treasure hunt! Started in the Kitchen, went to the Girls‘ room, to the living room, upstairs to the guest bedroom and of course the last was in the library where I had two cards and Reese‘s Trees hidden in one of my literary pillows ❤️ He really makes my heart happy and makes life so much fun! It‘s been a great day 🙌📚❤️

Mitch I love the idea of a ‘ birthday month‘! Hope you enjoy ever single day 😜 6y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings @Mitch Thank you! Everyone should celebrate all month long ❤️ I am a firm believer in that 😊 6y

Mehso-so

I tried out this series as it is a very popular mystery series in Italy. This mystery was ok and kept my attention just enough to finish it but wasn‘t enough to make me want to read another.

Found these two items at work today. I'm absolutely dumbfounded how someone could do that to a book. Like, you should never set hands on another book if you treat it like that. The rest of the book was fine, but it's just that cover and the next page after it that were ripped. Also, I really wanted to take that bookshelf home with me, but I unfortunately cannot because of company policy. 😔 But I'll definitely look for it at my local thrift store.

TheBookStacker My cat ate the cover off one of my books once. It was Big Little Lies I believe lol. 7y
TheRiehlDeal @TheBookStacker 😱 Oh no! I'm sure you were pissed. Hope you got a replacement. 7y
