Like Gothic horror? Then this is the book for you. Very creepy and atmospheric. Set in a Victorian prison, it is a perfect read for a dark, rainy night. Five out of five stars. These flowers reminded me of the ones in the book!

Took a trip to my favorite used book store - John K King in Detroit. Four, fabulous stories of books. The building has a lot of history and gives off this wonderful, creepy vibe. It would be a great place for hide and seek. Everything from old books on military history to an entire floor of art books. I spent two hours here and only left because it was closing time! 🤣

Do you feel even colder when reading a book set in winter when it‘s winter irl too? My next read will definitely be set somewhere warm! 🌴🌞

This one had a great opening, but the end was messy (too many twists.) Not terrible, but not my favorite thriller, either. I‘m adding the sunset pic because isn‘t it gorgeous?

Last year‘s botanical calendar was too pretty to get rid of, and it also reminded me of this book. This wasn‘t my favorite Kingsolver novel, but I did enjoy it. At times, though, it was a little too preachy. She talked about important issues, but her lecturing got in the way of the story. I‘m not sure I would have finished it if it hadn‘t been a book club pick. I‘m curious how my other book club friends will like it.

Binging this series on Netflix while I knit my first sweater of 2019. If you haven‘t read this book, I strongly recommend it. It‘s like Harry Potter for adults. The show is lots of fun, too. Great casting.

I loved the history in this book, and several times was moved to tears. However, it kind of fell apart for me at the end. I had a hard time understanding the characters‘ motivations.

First time listening to a book on tape! It‘s so nice to do this while I knit. Why on 🌏 haven‘t I done this before, lol. Really fascinated by this book, and I can‘t wait to find out what happens. Not too excited by the narrator, though. He makes all the female characters sound like Tina on Bob‘s Burgers. 🤣🤣

Loved this book! A truly unique gothic mystery with a lot of twists and turns. Full review on the website.

My #bookhaul from the local library‘s used book sale. 😍 A lot of #historicalfiction this time around. Also a cute #chicklit title. Shopping at the used book sale is guilt free since I‘m paying only $.50 a book, and it‘s like recycling 😊. Has anyone read any of these titles?

Great thriller with interesting characters and a solo d story line. It preyed on my fears about being lost and subjected to the elements.
