Les Poisons de la Couronne (Les Rois Maudits, Tome 3) | 
pickMaurice Druon‘s novels have proven quite zippy for me, relatively speaking. Although I‘m reading them in my second language, they are quite short (250ish pages including historical notes) and the story moves quickly. I don‘t know much French history so I‘m learning a lot.
It‘s taken me this long to realize that the book is called Les POISONS de la couronne and not Les POISSONS de la couronne 😂😂

I have been making my way through The Accursed Kings series and it is pretty spectacular. It being mostly factual makes it more powerful. ✨
pickThe in-fighting between different parts of the family certainly ratcheted up in this book, I can see why George R R Martin linked this series to The Game of Thrones. Don't turn your back on any of them for a second and certainly don't eat anything they offer you! Initially didn't think I was going to enjoy this one, but yet again the storyline captivated and keen to continue. I need to find out what happens next!
Last night started book 3 of the Accursed Kings Series by Maurice Druon, will be interested to see what happens when Clemence arrives in France to marry Louis X, and how his inept reign continues. I think the lunatics have taken over the asylum.
