9 posts | 6 read | 4 to read
Warriors. Lovers. Enemies. Legends. Theirunion became pivotal in Irin history, but to understand Damien and Sari's ending, you must go back to their beginning. Four hundred years ago, a young singer and a hardened warrior met and loved each other, but their life was torn apart by violence. No matter how much pain and anger stain their lives, bonds in the Irin race cannot be abandoned. Damien and Sari will never truly leave each other, because those who are destined cannot be ignored. The Staff and the Blade is the fourth book in the Irin Chronicles."

With everything going on in the world, my focus has been less than stellar. I was hoping revisiting a series I love would help, but it hasn't really. Audiobooks have been a savior though. So, I'm being gentle with myself, and just going with the flow for now. I hope everyone else is finding ways to cope in the world right now. #ThisWillPass #IsolationReadingSlump

Great addition to this series. I just love Elizabeth Hunter. Read her if you like romance with a side of magic and paranormal, but without the pornier aspects of LKH, JRW or KMM. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Reason eleventy billion I love my kindle: perfect for reading in bed without waking up the husband when you wake up at 4 am and can't get back to sleep. #insomniawoes #anxietywoes #readallthedamntime

My_novel_obsession Lol - that's what I'm doing right now (and scrolling through Litsy of course!), just waiting for the alarm to go off in an hour 🙄 7y
Joriebooks I've done that. 😀 7y
monkeygirlsmama Yes! This is why I love my iPad mini. Hubby used to complain if I read print books or my first gen Nook late at night because even my bedside lamp would bother him if he was sleeping. But the backlit adjustable brightness screen of my mini allows me to read into the wee hours and he can sleep away. 7y

TheLondonBookworm Ah yes it's a brilliant tool for a bit of sneak reading! ☺ 7y
saresmoore 🙋Heck yes! Even the iPhone was too bright and would cause my husband to stir, but that special little Kindle is amahzing with its subtle backlight! 7y
BookNerdBritt Those hashtags are the exact reasons I'm awake and about to reach for my Kindle. 😔💕 (edited) 7y
christineandbooks Yep! Definitely when I do the majority of my Kindle reading. Only thing that calms my racing thoughts enough to get back to sleep sometimes.. 7y
LauraBrook This was me at 2:00 this morning! 7y
kiminreverse It's also perfect for when your boyfriend's snoring wakes you up again and extra reading time is pretty much your "glass half full" motivation to not kill him. 7y

I've had major book attention issues the past few weeks and I can't seem to finish anything, so I decided to download this. Elizabeth Hunter's magic has worked again and I'm flying through this! Thank goodness this isn't going to be a major #bookslump! #romancetotherescue #loveandmagic

B.Reader Sometimes a good romance is just what is needed! 7y

It's been a while since I have immersed myself in the world of the Irin but after a few chapters I had a Celine Dion moment 🎤it's all coming back to me now🎶. Damien and Sari's story is breaking my heart 💔 #elizabethhunter #irinchronicles

This is not the cheesy romance it seems! It's the fourth book in Elizabeth Hunter's Irin Chronicles. The men are scribes, keepers of history and fierce warriors, magic tattooed on their skin. The women, singers, executing their magic in voice. There are wicked angels, politics and intrigue, battle and mercy, love and loss. The first three books follow Malachi and Ava. This book is the six hundred year story of Damien and Sari. And it's wonderful.

The 4th book in the series had me full of feelings. I laughed, cried, was angry, frustrated and had goosebumps. Elizabeth Hunter is an amazing author. The connection with her characters is amazing. I want to know them in real life. If you haven't read book 1-3 they are a must before this one. This is one of my favorite series.
