pickOf the novels shortlisted for the Giller Prize, this is my favourite. Literary, lush, evocative of time, place and character I enjoyed this one the most. I know that's not what necessarily piques the judges' choice, but for me it definitely does!

I‘m sorry to say I‘m going to have to call it on my #DoubleSpin. Interesting premise, but I am just not feeling the writing style, so it‘s a DNF, at least for now. Perhaps it‘s a timing thing and it will come out of #hibernation when the time is right.

pickLOVED this totally unexpected but also totally welcome sequel to Adamson‘s previous novel, The Outlander. Now I want to read that one again. Loved the sense of place and the return of the characters, and the thrilling story they were involved in.
