pickWow! A 5* read and probably the best book I‘ve read this year so far. A story spanning 52 different locations and 2080 years. I am in awe of the imagination and research that must have been required to write this book. John Boyne is at the top of his game. #bookspinbingo
This is a fascinating book. The same story being lived by multiple families through the millennia. And this paragraph ties it all together: no matter where we live or in what century, the spectrum of human emotion is the same. Makes me feel like we‘re all in this together

Along the way we encounter some famous historical figures as well as a couple of fictional characters from one of Boyne‘s earlier works. While the story centers around an unnamed narrator and his family, the relationships and plot stay the same while the names, locations and time period change in what is a very ambitious, clever and compelling tale.
That wonderful feeling you get when the latest book by one of your favorite authors arrives in the mail!
