Wild Rain: Women Who Dare | Beverly Jenkins
7 posts | 9 read | 2 to read
USA Today bestselling author Beverly Jenkins continues her captivating Women Who Dare series with a female rancher who forges her own path in the wake of the Civil War... Banished by her grandfather at the age of eighteen, Spring Lee has survived scandal to claim her own little slice of Paradise, Wyoming. She's proud of working her ranch alone and unwilling to share it with a stranger--especially one like Garrett McCray, who makes her second-guess her resolve to avoid men. Garrett escaped slavery years ago and is now a reporter in Washington. He's traveled west to interview Dr. Colton Lee for an article, yet it's Lee's fearless sister, Spring, who captures his interest. Clad in denim and buckskins instead of dresses, she's the most fascinating woman he's ever met. And he's certain she also feels the connection that sizzles between them. But when a shadow from Spring's past returns, all is on the line: her ranch, her safety--and this wild, fierce love.

Beverly Jenkins always delivers. Great characters, solid story, accurate history brought to life. Spring is a favorite heroine of mine! #BookspinBingo @TheAromaofBooks #Pantone2022 #Daffodil @Clwojick

Changed up my February #BookspinBingo list. With crazy work, I want to lighten it up a bit and include some recent bits and library holds. Bring it on February!

4/5

After reading Tempest last year, I couldn't wait to read Spring's story and more about Reagan and Colt as well. A part time journalist comes to paradise to interview Colt, but ends up meeting Springs first when he's thrown from his horse during a blizzard. I loved the way their relationship built, and they worked through their assumptions.

Just got to the declaration of the love -- and it was so unexpected and also completely in character -- and I completely shrieked out loud.

As always Beverly Jenkins historical romances are entertaining and educational. We first meet Spring Lee in the book Tempest and I couldn‘t wait to read the story of a fiercely independent rancher living on her own terms in the west. Ms. Bev created a perfectly balanced love interest in Garrett and I enjoyed their story. Please if you haven‘t already pick up a Beverly Jenkins book and enjoy ❤️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

mrp27 I've never read Jenkins and I don't read a whole lot of romance but I do enjoy it now and again. Do you have a suggestion for a first Jenkins read? 3y
Liatrek @mrp27 Forbidden was my first Beverly Jenkins book and it starts a series that leads up this current book Wild Rain. 🙂 3y

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The legendary Ms. Bev proved once again why she's the Slayer of Words. Her latest novel is rich in Black history, balanced with action and humor, and shining with compelling characters. I admire how Ms. Bev made Spring an Alpha heroine yet still sympathetic. I could totally hear the author's voice from the snappy dialogue. She also made Garrett a cinnamon roll hero but not soft. Definitely already one of my Top 21 reads of 2021.
