At Home with the Word 2021
At Home with the Word 2021 | Rebekah Eklund, Maribeth Howell, Teresa Marshall-Patterson
1 post
At Home with the Word guides you to a deeper understanding of the Sunday Scriptures, providing the readings for this liturgical year, insights from Scripture scholars, and action steps. (Additional reflection questions and action steps for families, Christian Initiation, and adult faith-sharing groups may be downloaded from the LTP Website.) The book also includes prayers and citations for weekday readings.Bulk pricing makes At Home with the Word an economical resource to provide for large groups. The covers of At Home with the Word are telling the story of salvation history through eight colorful episodes that depict the unfolding relationship between humanity and the Triune God Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The series began in 2017 with creation; continued in 2018 with Gods covenant with Abraham, and in 2019 with Moses leading the people across the dry bed of the Red Sea. This years cover portrays Ezekiels vision in the valley of the dry bones. Future years will show John the Baptist baptizing the Lord, Mary Magdalene running to tell the disciples the news of the Resurrection, Christ returning to his Father at the Ascension, and the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. Artist Cody F. Miller created the scenes of the covenant with Abraham and Pentecost. William Hernandez painted the vision from Ezekiel, and James B. Janknegt has contributed the other five.

I‘m toning down my challenges for ‘21 & scaling back to concentrate on my own already owned books and personal “I want to read” lists... so here‘s my super simple reading #NewYearsResolution for 2021. No Popsugar, no Read Harder, no Around the World or Year, No mountain climbing.... just my books and things I‘ve been meaning to read for awhile and just never get to. I‘ll try to use this tag and let you know how I do. 😉

#21Challenge for 2021.

Riveted_Reader_Melissa Part of this for me is also to concentrate on reading groups, instead of challenges. 3y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Graywacke I decided the only way I could keep it simple was if I made that the challenge for myself. 😂 3y
cozypunk Great approach - 21 for 2021 is an easy way to remember your goal. This year my goal was 40 since I turned 40yo. 3y

Riveted_Reader_Melissa @dandy.punk 40 is a good goal, and I‘ll definitely read more book than 21 through the year.... but I want to prioritize books I‘ve been meaning to read for awhile, which often get pushed to the back burner for the newest looks good book. 3y
Crazeedi @Riveted_Reader_Melissa this is such a good idea. I tried to do challenges, but my tbr has just gotten bigger. I have so many physical books, kindle ones, ARC's that I haven't touched. I think I'll make a goal similar to yours! 3y
Graywacke @Riveted_Reader_Melissa diy challenge 👍 3y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Crazeedi I‘m glad it‘s not just me! I want to leave room for my group reads on Litsy, but stop looking for odd books for some odd category, while pushing books I bought and wanted to read until later...and never getting to them. I have piles of physical books, kindle books, and audiobooks that I own but are waiting to be read and series I really want to read, but haven‘t made the time for. So 2021, is a me year! 😉 3y
BookwormAHN I have a similar plan. No 175 books for Goodreads and every challenge that I come across. I want to concentrate on books that I really want to read not just those that fit a prompt. December has felt like book burnout month. 3y
cozypunk I need a catchphrase, hashtag, or mnemonic that's easy to remember! Something to remind myself with before just scrolling away on social media. 3y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @BookwormAHN I understand that... I want time for my reading groups here on Litsy and time for my personal to read piles. More fun, more community, less stress. I finished my challenges this month and thought, now I have time to finish this series, or read this new release I bought back in May....and then I thought, why have I been waiting? Putting them off for challenge books....That‘s silly 🤷‍♀️ 3y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @dandy.punk More fun, less Stress! Read for me! Something like that? (edited) 3y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @dandy.punk I‘m liking #ReadForMe as a hashtag. What do you think? 3y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @BookwormAHN I think 2020 has just been a stressful year, so maybe downsizing the commitments is just a self care choice for 2021? 3y
Crazeedi @Riveted_Reader_Melissa I agree one hundred percent! You and me are on the same wavelength, it's my goal to just reduce the already owned stacks!! Yay for us!!! 3y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Crazeedi Yes, 2021 needs to be a #ReadForMe self-care year 3y
bnp This makes a lot of sense. 3y
cozypunk #readforme sounds brillant! 3y
twohectobooks This is very much my speed! I have twelve books on my physical TBR that I plan to read in 2021 and other than that I‘m going to read whatever I want! 3y
Suet624 Great idea.
3y
Exbrarian This is fantastic. Similar to my plans. Primarily, read stuff I already own. 3y
BookwormAHN Definitely, love the hashtag #ReadForMe 3y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @BookwormAHN I added it to the picture now. 🤣 (edited) 3y
CarolynM Great plan. Good luck🍀 3y
Tamra Love it! 👍🏾 3y
