The storyline was really good and I was really invested! Summer and her husband and stepson go to the annual family vacation! There she meets Hannah and swears she knows her but she insists she doesn‘t know her! Then someone is murder and summer suspects Hannah! Then the ending happens and I was disappointed no real suspense it was pretty much they did it the end! 🌟🌟

Summer was looking forward to the annual family trip to her in laws retreat. One of her brother in laws brings a new love interest, Hannah, who Summer does not care for after catching her in a lie. Everything is off after that & the family is surrounded by unexplained tragedies. Her mother in law, Claire, dies unexpectedly under suspicious circumstances & Summer thinks she knows who is behind it all. It's a quick & enjoyable read.

Between a pick and so-so, but I enjoy Kate White‘s writing so I went with pick. Typical locked room murder mystery though. Decent twists, but I was “wowed”. Maybe I just need a break from them!

Starting this one now.

I really enjoyed this one. However, I do have to knock off a star because the plot could be very slow at times. I found the revelation of the culprit surprising so kudos to Ms. White for that.

I've not read a book by Kate White before and really enjoyed this one. I will read more now.
This book has a lot going on. A whole lot of characters. A family full of secrets. I liked some of the characters and some were just a bit hard to like.

The first thing that seems wrong to her are the vultures.
There are five or six of them, perched in a cluster on the peaked roof of the old bird blind, which sits at the edge of the woods and to the right of the stream.
