I loved this. Has me hooked and ended exactly how I hoped it would.

This is a new author for me. The title caught my eye so I read the blurb about the plot line and it sounded right up my alley. I loved it! It was a twisty, turny psychological thriller that kept me guessing to the very end.
“Secrets, obsession and vengeance converge in this riveting thriller about an online dating match turned deadly cat-and-mouse game, from the New York Times bestselling author of Confessions on the 7:45.”
Wren meets Adam online, they fall in love. Later Adam ghosts Wren. Bailey, a PI, finds Wren and tells her Adam may be involved in the disappearance of several women. They work together to search for Adam, but then Wren goes off on her own to find him. About 100 pages too long and the ending is a lot of trite ideas about love and forgiveness.

Think twice before you swipe! I thoroughly enjoyed this fast paced read, enough so that I finished it it one day! 4/5⭐️
This should have been a taut thriller about a woman tracking down a possible serial killer using dating apps to trawl for victims. What we got was a stodgy mess & a main character who goes on about how she still loves the man who lied to her, ghosted her, & possibly killed three women. It started off with promise & pace, but somewhere along the journey the narrative started to meander. (Continued)
I didn't like this storyline or the characters (although I do get the feeling that they were meant to be unlikeable), I didn't feel invested in this in any way.
I'm also not entirely sure I understood the ending, I'm left feeling confused but hey ho, plenty more books on the shelves.
This is part of the Hush collection.
At the time of posting this collection is available on Kindle Unlimited.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This one kept my interest throughout, and definitely had a relatively unique storyline. It was interesting that Covid, the Australian wildfires, and other headlines were mentioned sporadically throughout, helping to illustrate how crazy our world has become, and give a tiny bit of validity to the ideas of doomsday peppers. 🤏
This is a modern day thriller for fans of You. If you like slow burners, you might find this one appealing! But personally, I feel the disappointment of this book down to my solar plexus; I think that may be Unger‘s favourite body part. I found it nearly ten times in the book— still don‘t know what or where it is, though.
Thanks to @HarperCollins for gifting me this free ARC in exchange for an honest review. Full review is up on GoodReads!
I enjoyed this book up to a point. Then it took a turn that was just too far in right field.
Good, but not great, mostly due to editorial decisions by the author. I didn‘t much care about the main character‘s backstory and didn‘t see the need for the dual timeline element, especially since that time would be better spent on the budding relationship with the guy that ghosted.
But the first few chapters are ka-boom, the subsequent a fizzled firecracker. And the ending?—Your novel was over at least two chapters ago, author! Let it lie. 🙄
This was my first from Lisa Unger and it really kept me intrigued! I just had to know what was going to happen. The main character is definitely frustrating though.
Thanks to #netgalley for the ARC. This is one of those books that sinks it's teeth into you from the get go and then you find yourself losing time as you addictively turn the pages. In the times of online dating apps - this book will have you second guessing your swipes. When you find the man of your dreams online, only to be ghosted and the start discovering he was not who he presented to be. A dark twisty highly enjoyable read.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I went on a B&N shopping spree. ❤️ I got a signed copy of Chasing the Boogeyman and also picked up the new Lisa Unger book, Last Girl Ghosted, which is not supposed to be out until October 5. 😱📚💕
