Sydney at Sunset: And Other Verses (Classic Reprint)
Sydney at Sunset: And Other Verses (Classic Reprint) | Ruth M Bedford
1 post
Excerpt from Sydney at Sunset: And Other Verses It hides the slopes where sunlight lingered last, It overspreads the trees, Finding and folding all the beauty fast By slow and soft degrees. No more the western heaven gleams and The gold turns grey. A star Breaks through the darkness. Dim the grows, And dim the waters are. But there beyond the water lies the town, Her windows jewel-bright, Sydney, on whom both sun and stars look down With so much love and light. Tonight‘s sunset was so beautiful. It‘s like nature is saying “Sorry you‘re in hard lockdown for another month, here‘s some pretty sky colours.” 🙄 #SunsetsOfSydney #LockdownFatigue

MrsMalaprop Take care. Hope you get to read some great books. 3y
TrishB Lovely ❤️ just read about your lockdown! Good job you have books. 3y
CarolynM What's the feeling like in your part of Sydney? How are your family doing? I know lockdown is tough, but it really is the only way until we're all vaccinated. I really hope we see the numbers turning around soon. 3y
Lizpixie @TheSpineView @Nute @JessClark78 @TrishB it was gorgeous right? @MrsMalaprop lucky I have such a huge stockpile on my #MountTBRShelvesOfDoom!📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚 3y
Lizpixie @CarolynM it‘s not great here, unfortunately we‘re just inside the Blacktown LGA snd they‘ve just tightened down the cordon to 5km! Luckily our supermarket is in that radius but our bank is not🙄It‘s hard on our family coz not only do I have a 28week pregnant daughter outside the area(it‘s her 1st too)who needs me, the hubby‘s brother has just split from his wife & it‘s acrimonious with 4 kids. He‘s on his own in Wollongong!! I‘m a mess🤦🏻‍♀️ 3y
Lizpixie @CarolynM Hubs is booked in for the AZ vaccine next week but because I‘ve had 2 lots of pulmonary embolism in the past, I have to wait till my GP has the Pfizer. Today‘s numbers are ridiculous so I get why, it‘s just frustrating as hell. Especially when hubs comes home telling me about all the people with no masks or seeing mobile dog washers out and about. How is that essential?? And the idiots on social media screaming about their rights!🙇🏻‍♀️ 3y
Lizpixie @CarolynM sorry for unloading lovely, I‘m just argggghhh!!! You know? How‘s Melbourne right now? 3y
CarolynM Unload all you like, lovely, I get it. It's a really challenging thing to go through, and, as you say, incredibly frustrating when you see people who obviously just don't care. From our perspective the NSW govt has been pretty lax about what's essential and about making clear what is and isn't allowed. We're out of lockdown as of yesterday, although still with restrictions. Hoping we can keep our numbers down. 3y
