Wow. This powerful story is about a child who has the ability to move across the bridge between Mexico and the US, and how they help the families stuck on the bridge. These families cannot enter the US but also can‘t enter Mexico. Each country says we don‘t have room. But our young child narrator wishes for the day when his friends can travel the way they do, even if it is just a few miles back-and-forth.

LibrarianRyan This book is fantastic and looks at a border town in a different light. It still has a happy feel to it even though it‘s about a very heavy topic. It‘s a great start to teach children about some of the issues with modern immigration. 1y

My Two Border Towns is a Tomas Rivera Award winner. It is a children's literature fiction book and was published in 2021. It is about a son and his dad and their weekend ritual. It is a great picture of what it is like to be living by the U.S. and Mexico boarder. I think this would be a great read aloud for any age group and it has such a important reality of some peoples lives around that area. I would like to read this to my class one day.

This one made me cry. A simple story about life on both sides of the Rio Grande, told through the eyes of a child.
