The King's Men
The King's Men | Nora Sakavic
25 posts | 71 read | 2 reading | 8 to read
Neil Josten is out of time. He knew when he came to PSU he wouldn't survive the year, but with his death right around the corner he's got more reasons than ever to live. Befriending the Foxes was inadvisable. Kissing one is unthinkable. Neil should know better than to get involved with anyone this close to the end, but Andrew's never been the easiest person to walk away from. If they both say it doesn't mean anything, maybe Neil won't regret losing it, but the one person Neil can't lie to is himself. He's got promises to keep and a team to get to championships if he can just outrun Riko a little longer, but Riko's not the only monster in Neil's life. The truth might get them all killed--or be Neil's one shot at getting out of this alive.

My holiday Monday involved another tequila seltzer (this one was much better than the Cactus Pear flavour) and THE KING‘S MEN. It‘s mighty nice to be back with these characters, but so far I‘m gonna say I felt more must-read-more-oh-god-oh-god about THE RAVEN KING. I‘m hoping to find that binge-read impulse in the back half.

This story is for people who love sports fiction, but it's equally a compelling listen for those who are wanting a quality character-driven story. In all, this audiobook is a must-have for anyone who appreciates great stories, or anyone who loves characters you can connect with....

This is honestly the furthest I've read from romance...ever. Even 'You' by Caroline Kepnes had more romance in it and we know how that ended... But it wasn't a bad series, I did enjoy it. I was too interested in what was happening with everyone to DNF it. It's a little darker then I normally read too. I'm telling you, that fanart had me eff'd up for what to expect in these books 😂. I'm glad I read it though, whatever lol.

I just finished this and I‘m actually shaking a little. How is this series so good?? I feel like this was the perfect ending to the series from the plot to the twists to the characters who I‘ve come to love so much it‘s unreal. I already know this series will be one I‘ll reread one day. And don‘t even get me started on the audiobook, Alexander Cendese is now one of my absolute favourite readers. I‘ll miss these Foxes so much🧡

RinnsReads Love this series! So good. 4y

What an end to the trilogy - I could, of course, have kept reading but it ended at a good, hopeful place. These books kept me up reading wayyy past my bedtime - and even through I finished this a couple of nights ago, I‘ll be thinking about Neil and the rest of the foxes for a long time.

He hesitated halfway through the changing room door and looked back at Wymack. “Oh, and sorry in advance about the press. In my defence, they started it.” “Christ alive,” Wymack said. “What did you do this time.”

This book has it all - the Coach being an exasperated adult, Neil being clueless, and well - I just know the confrontation with Neil‘s mafia father is coming...

Did I start this book after 11pm and then keep reading until everyone seemed safe before turning the light out? Maybeeeeee (I set multiple alarms - so I might even make it to work on time)

I get bored in the middle of the week so I've decided to start #FavoriteLineWednesday!

I binge read the audio because I couldn‘t wait to find out what happened. The dynamic between Neil & Andrew is so complex. They are both emotionally damaged in differing ways. I loved the resolution of the mafia storyline, the sports rivalry and the #romantsy. 🥍🥍🥍🥍🥍

This series was a lot of fun. The Andrew/ Neil storyline, although took WAY too long, is exactly what I needed. The series is completely absurd but it got me addicted and somehow interested in sports???? (Even though said sport is made up).

Book 5 of 2017. Honestly this series is the best thing ever. I love all of my little fox babies.

CaitlinSiem I mean... Haven't they been breaking your heart a little bit since book one? They aren't the changing type haha. I hope you feel better soon! 8y

This series. Augh. So many layers to such complicated people. Andrew's thoughts about regret here really hit a chord with me. Looking forward to getting back to reading after an afternoon of running errands.

Yamich49 Right?!? I love these characters so much. Just finished another reread of these and it was just as good as the first read. 8y

TKM is raw and ugly and in your face.

The character growth is fantastically done—I love them fiercely. And the story moves, twists, turns, and takes your breath away in delightful and terrifying ways.

Nora pushes the boundaries of both the characters and reader in ways many seem afraid of doing.

Yamich49 Ugh these two. I love them so much. 9y
CaitlinSiem @Yamich49 AGREED. Honestly, Andrew is my favorite. He's the absolute worst but I love him so damn much. (Just talking about these books makes me want to reread them immediately) 9y
tkmadden My initials are TKM so this review gave me a pause! 😂 9y
Yamich49 @CaitlinSiem haha right?? I'm trying to remind myself how many other books I have to read right now. Andrew is my fave too. 9y

This series just got better each book. I am not a sports fan AT ALL (besides women's soccer ofc) but I loved these books and Exy which was so central to the story. This one was amazing and devastating and beautiful and I stayed up until sunrise finishing it. Read it. Live it. Love it.

CaitlinSiem I'm so glad you loved these as much as I did. They quickly became a favorite of mine. Sakavic created something so unique in this trilogy. I love how she didn't back down from anything. It definitely makes sense why there's such a huge following of this series on tumblr. 9y
Yamich49 Yes! Tumblr is the reason I finally read them (as with so many of my fandoms lol). I kept seeing posts about it and finally gave in. So glad I did! I need more books like these in my life - you have any recs for similarly f-ed up but beautiful characters? 9y
