There were parts of this I thought were well done and parts that were meh. When Molly talks about her family, it was so sincere and heartfelt. When she talks about her acting life it seemed flimsy and for shock value. She did okay as the narrator.

I used to watch Will and Grace and she played kooky neighbour Val. She seems like that in her audiobook too, vivacious and full of energy. Her family was in a car accident when she was 4, and her mother and sister died. She and her younger sis were raised by their dad, and while he tried his best, his parenting style is best described as very permissive. Like when she and her friend snuck on a plane to New York City from Cleveland. They were 12!
I loved hearing Molly‘s story (especially since she is also from Cleveland 😉). She was able to turn trauma and heartbreak into positivity and she has such a unique, beautiful story to tell!
I grew up near Molly‘s hometown and I worked at the school where her mom was a librarian. It was fun to remember the local places she mentioned that are long gone. Audiobook was the right choice for this one. Molly reads with a lot of emotion and I found myself smiling through her stories.
Book 29 of 2022 Good, fast read, wish she had gone into more detail about her time on SNL.
Listened to Molly Shannon on Conan O'Brien's podcast this week so I had to go buy her book. Oh..... and a few more. 🤗📚
I enjoy Molly‘s characters on SNL - while this does provide some insight to who she is as a human, the bulk revolves around the complicated relationship she has with her father on a somewhat surface level.
So 5 stars for Molly Shannon the hilarious human but 2 stars for Molly Shannon the would be author- memoirist. No disrespect to Molly, but her writing skills were VERY elemental & her book which had some very reflective moments was unfortunately filled with redundancy and excessive name dropping. I have a feeling this would have been better on audio. Thanks for sharing @KarenUK 🥰It was the perfect beach read
One of my favorite things about visiting Miami is seeing @KarenUK ♥️we had a lovely catch-up!! Over 3.5 hours chatting away like the old friends that we‘ve become 💕and as always, Karen spoiled me with LOTS of goodies 🥰 her homemade granola is the BEST 😋
Great book mail day Molly Shannons memoir Hello Molly and a novel to sink into.
