Nice House on the Lake Vol. 1 | 
pickSpending a week with a group of high school, college, & more recent fiends at an isolated house on a lake can‘t be a good idea, can it? Well, ten people are about to learn the answer to that question & what they discover will have you turning pages furiously as one twist after another switches everything up. An excellent story—Tynion writes horror better than just about everyone—with fantastic art & colors. Eisner Award winner indeed. Loved it.

The opening, though, hooked me. The tense mystery surrounding the unknown narrator, as she starts with telling the reader, "it was the end of a late night in Brooklyn" leading into a past memory, a brief moment that seems like nothing but is a snippet of a larger picture.
Told across multiple POVs and across days, this volume just grazes the beginning of what's to come.
pickThis graphic novel is bizarre but in a way that draws you in and makes it impossible to stop reading.
I'm still not entirely sure what's happening, or where the story is headed, but I'm in for the wild ride ahead.

pickI'm addicted to James Tynion IV's graphic novels. The horror and illustrations work so well together. In this series, Walter gathers some friends at a lake house to try to save them from intergalactic annihilation. Looking forward to Volume 2.

pickFound this in a Comic book store on our camping weekend and had to read it on this cool and rainy morning. A timely, creepy post-apocalyptic story of a group is semi-friends and the friend that connects them. I don‘t want to say anything else, but a great story and I look forward to continuing this comic series. 5⭐️

This genre mashup features a gorgeous art style, and it‘s the first graphic novel that has truly gripped me since discovering Saga. The vibrant cast of characters, with Walter at the center of the web, narrate the story in a past/present/future structure. Can‘t wait for more!
