I think, Yasemine Galenorn and I go separate ways from now on. I've read her books for so many years, they are a part of me, but I feel like our time is done now. Even though I really liked the first book, and this one also does have some nice and touching scenes, it just couldn't thrill me. I couldn't get into the story at all. Since I still have the Christmas extra story I'll wait a couple of month and try the series once again during ⬇

By finishing the second Chintz 'n China novel, I cleared my #BookSpinBingo board for April. And still some time to write some reviews - Nice! May board is in the making - I first need to check if some planned books are available at our library.

Yasmine is one of my favorite authors, she rarely disappoints. This cozy mystery series is becoming one of my favorites from her. About halfway through this book I saw the twist she was about to throw and then she did throw it, it turned into a double twist. Excellent story, I‘m about to start the 3rd book in this series!

This sounds kind of weird describing this as such, but this is a "mature" cozy mystery. Does that make sense? It's dark, well developed, and most importantly, doesn't rely on cheap anxiety-inducing cliffhangers and dramatic thrills every other page to keep the story going. I see that a lot with cozy mysteries. This one had really well-written characters, and the story was super interesting. Yay. ✨

Okay. I desperately need a cozy mystery. #takemeaway
