I only have four more days to finish this ebook on my Cloudlibrary app. The weather is so nice I had to visit Sidney by the Sea. Lunch was yummy and my friend‘s peonies are lovely. But not much reading time 🐉

DNF - I started reading this to get out if my reading slump by delving into a different genre than normal. It started out good but something was a smidge off so I flipped to the middle and end and read a few snippets and well TRIGGER WARNING there‘s child abuse and rape in here and I had no idea. I immediately checked back into the library. So if that bothers anyone beware
I think they got consecutively worse as they went on, which is really unfortunate. This one had a lot of potential, Michael was a great character in The Traitor. And he turned into a totally different character here, they could've been two different people. But the book prevails upon you having already gotten to know him. Rocky terrain, touchy subject, not her worst, still enjoyed it, but meh.
I have said I hate romance (it was all I read as a teen), but I appear to be making my way back into the world of historical romance. This was a good story all around. I enjoyed the plot and the main characters. I will most likely read more by this author.
