Reading through the Holmes short stories (especially from the first two collections, which are the strongest of the bunch) is very much like a hot cup of tea and a warm blanket and a lovely plate of scones in a comfy chair... A total comfort read. I took this one pretty slowly because I did not want to miss a single one of Klinger's copious notes. I always think it's so fun when a researcher plays the Game (the Baring-Gould bio is a fave).
I broke my foot over a month and a half ago and took a big step today by actually leaving the apartment on my own and going book shopping. It was killing me. One of my favorite weekend activities is trolling the used bookstores of my area, searching for early HC editions of books I love, Folio Society editions, Penguin cloth classics, penguin drop cap editions, etc. I love the treasure hunt aspect. I found some great ones today!
