#LMPBC #Round4 #GroupL I am so, so sorry I picked this. I stayed up to finish it so I could mail it out tomorrow but ugh. It‘s so bad. I can‘t force this on anyone. I will go back to my initial pick this weekend, finish it, and FedEx it on Monday. This one is so bad, you‘ll hate me. The characters are flat, the plot is ridiculous, and goodness, the misogyny is breathtaking.

Hey #LMPBC #GroupL. I‘m not feeling the first book I picked (City of Spies) and trying to force myself through it is sending me into a bit of a reading slump. Would you mind if I switched to the tagged book? If anyone really objects, I‘ll keep going, but I thought I‘d at least ask. 😊

Found this under a pile of clothes after starting it a month or so back. Gruesome murders a plenty!

#greatfirstlines: "The mendicant monk had heard few good things about Bergen and even fewer about Norway, the land where he was born, about which he had forgotten so much." The first chapter is set in Bergen in 1528, and having been there so many times to visit my husband's family I enjoyed reading how little had changed around the old wharf and old town! #booktober

Finished this while enjoying a nice, cool (finally!) night on the back porch. Despite having really gory murders, this turned into a solid Scandinavian thriller.
