Chicago Stars quarterback Dean Robillard is the luckiest man in the world: a bona-fide sports superstar and the pride of the NFL with a profitable side career as a buff billboard model for End Zone underwear. But life in the glory lane has started to pale, and Dean has set off on a cross-country trip to figure out what's gone wrong. When he hits a lonely stretch of Colorado highway, he spies something that will shake up his gilded life in ways he can't imagine. A young woman . . . dressed in a beaver suit. Blue Bailey is on a mission to murder her ex. Or at least inflict serious damage. As for the beaver suit she's wearing . . . Is it her fault that life keeps throwing her curveballs? Witness the expensive black sports car pulling up next to her on the highway and the Greek god stepping out of it. Blue's career as a portrait painter is the perfect job for someone who refuses to stay in one place for very long. She needs a ride, and America's most famous football player has an imposing set of wheels. Now, all she has to do is keep him entertained, off guard, and fully clothed before he figures out exactly how desperate she is. But Dean isn't the brainless jock she imagines, and Bluedespite her petite statureis just about the toughest woman Dean has ever met. They're soon heading for his summer home where their already complicated lives and inconvenient attraction to each other will become entangled with a charismatic but aging rock star; a beautiful fifty-two-year-old woman trying to make peace with her rock and roll past; an eleven-year-old who desperately needs a family; and a bitter old woman who hates them all. As the summer progresses, the wandering portrait artist and the charming football star play a high-stakes game, fighting themselves and each other for a chance to have it all. Natural Born Charmer is for everyone who's ever thought about leaving their old life in the dust and never looking back. Susan Elizabeth Phillips takes us home again . . . and shows us where love truly lives.

Empezado y terminado libro #6

So many unread books on my shelf, but I'm in the mood to revisit this SEP favorite 🤷🏽‍♀️ #romantsy

Starts with a girl named Blue walking down the street in a beaver costume and this is her observation on the hunky Dean Robillard. Cracks me up every time 😂

VirginiaRevel Amazing line!! 7y
Kimberlone What an attention grabbing quote! I am super interested in this book now. 7y
swishandflick Right?! So good. SEP's the best for witty repartee in a fun romcom 😄 @VirginiaRevel @Kimberlone 7y
MeganAnn What a wonderful quote! My first thought was that I feel like someone might say this about my son someday... I may be in trouble when he starts dating 😳 7y
Chachic What a description! 7y

On a massive (if out of order) SEP binge at the moment. Read Natural Born Charmer last week, and am on my third in a week at the moment. Even if the tropes aren't always my favourites, these are still so much fun!

Chick lit but entertaining, not boring, lively chick lit than doesn't make you overdosed on the pink and fluffy. Blue is fun to watch and the reader can easily identify with the emotional journey she takes. Phillips chose to have two narrators, the girl and the boy. And I wrote girl and boy even though both characters are in their early thirty they are emotionally in their late teens. #romantsy

Lise1 I‘ve read all her books. They are so fun. 6y

My first ever SEP romance, thanks to a recommendation, and I really enjoyed it! I had been wanting a sweet read with spicy dialogue and got exactly that. Blue and Dean were a lot of fun with plenty of chemistry. I thought the last third of the book dragged on a bit long, so cutting 50-100 pages would have done the story good. I'll be reading more SEP for sure! #romansty #osrbc

EloisaJames You have so many great novels ahead of you! I'm jealous! Nobody's Baby but Mine and so many more! 8y
Deebee @EloisaJames I'm so excited! I'm going to read them in order now that I'm on the SEP bandwagon, so I can fully immerse myself. A whole new author's catalogue - it's giving me a happy! 😆 8y
EloisaJames @Deebee nothing better than a huge backlist! I will say that the first few are women's fiction not romance. I love her romance! 8y
Deebee @EloisaJames oh I didn't realize she did women's fiction as well. Thanks for that! I'll just stick to her romances for now since that seems to be her best work. I think I'll start with It Had To Be You and consume the rest of the Chicago Stars series - they all sound good! 8y
