I‘m at the exciting conclusion! Loved this mystery wrapped in a mystery sprinkled with a book cozy.
Loved the premise, but kept wanting it to be funnier than it was! Also, she usually follows the diets for only 3-5 days. I did like learning about what the old starlets ate, though!
Started this book today without knowing anything about it! Initially thought it was going to be more of a comedy book, but now it's looking more like a serious sociological study...? I'll give it some time.
Perfect book for the fall! Darkly atmospheric with a story line that keeps you guessing (and reading)!
I wasn't sure about this book, but found it at a used book sale at too good of a price. A few chapters in and I'm loving the atmosphere that she is setting up!
Getting started on this gem! First chapters and I'm hooked! Anyone else reading it?
So I initially made the mistake of starting this alone at night! I'm a bit of a wuss when it comes to suspense so I had to put it down and try again by the light of day! Then I was able to enjoy - I think the references to bookstores and books are what kept me moving through and entertained; maybe more than the story itself. 4/5
Thought there would be a few of us who could relate... 😂
Time to settle in for the evening with some suspense! Glad I was forewarned on the All The Books Podcast that this is a scary, not a cozy!
A really enjoyable read. Shelby's story and prose really immerse you into the kooky South Pole research station. As others have said, the plot meanders a bit, but overall a success. Excellent with tater tots ;)
Happy Birthday Agatha Christie! Here's my addition for favorite Christie novel (and username inspiration)! This one is without Poirot or Marple, but doesn't suffer from not having them. It's a combination of her more travel-oriented books with a solid English manor mystery as well. #agathachristie #agathachristielove
I visited my local library used book store today.. and things may have gotten out of hand. #tbr to the max! At least Klaus approves. #dogsoflitsy
I couldn't wait for this to come up on my library list and it finally did!! I may have devoured this one in one day. Loved the intertwining stories, engrossing setting, and clever premise!
