“You shouldn‘t be here.”
“Why?”
“Because you make me ravenous.”
⚔️
It‘s a pick, but the first 100 pages made me contemplate DNFing- I couldn‘t keep track of where we were going, who we were going with & if we liked eachother. But it picked up, it was kind of fun but doesn‘t compare to the core Crowns of Nyaxia series. I do commend Broadbent on telling stories from this world from different angles & expansive worldbuilding.
This is a low pick for me and that‘s disappointing. I love this series and I‘ve loved all of the other books so far - some of my favorite reads of the past year. This one took forever for the story to gain traction. Most of the first half was a slog. It finally picked up and became more engaging but it‘s all a little too late. I wanted more and I wanted a little less predictability.
Nyaxia story book 2.5 (I think I‘ve heard). While there were great moments, it didn‘t blow me away. The end twist definitely had me going though. These characters fell flat; mainly, I think, because I wanted more understanding in their shared trauma. it was There. There just wasn‘t any amount of time for them to talk, just feel it out and/or ignore it. Same with closing discussion; should have talked after all “that” occurred. Needed bit more
“You will never be free, Sylina, until you let go of the hold your past has on you,” she said. “The past cannot dictate the future.”
LOVING this author! This is a standalone in The Crowns of Nyaxia series, but I‘m sure we will see Sylina and Atrius again soon ❤️ 🗡️ 🖤
Happy Monday! 💛
I‘m hopefully starting the next book in The Crowns of Nyaxia series today! 🖤 🗡️ 🩸 trying to clean my house first 🙄
Sylina is charged by her order to become the seer for the vampire conquering their lands in order to dispatch him. After uncovering truths of both her organization and Atrius, the vampire, she is torn between following her goddess or the man she‘s come to know as more than a cold blooded conqueror. Loved this novella! Really liking this author and her characters!
For me this was a perfect, quick standalone romantasy. I am very glad that for once the FMC is attempting to betray the love interest.
I enjoyed the author's writing and storytelling as usual. The story is action-driven, the characters have sufficient depth and grow, the slow burn romance made my heart squeeze, there was a perfect amount of spice and the scenes were sensually written.
Although predictable, this was still pretty good. A seer tasked with getting close to the vampire conqueror to kill him. But of course learns that he‘s really not the bad guy in the story. Lots of Goddesses, battles and of course secrets and betrayals galore! Some spice 🌶️🌶️ and ⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars.
When it comes to Fantasy Fiction I've been finding myself drawn to this author. She does a great deal of world building and character-building while still moving the story forward. This was a truly engrossing read and I have no trouble recommending this author. #bookspin @TheAromaofBooks
This novella from the Crowns of Nyaxia world follows Sylina, an acolyte to the goddess Acaeja, on a mission to infiltrate a powerful vampire‘s military camp and kill him before he succeeds in conquering their kingdom. I loved it! The complex characters and relationships and the chemistry is something this author does so well! ⬇️
