The Teachers from the Black Lagoon by Mike Thaler, illustrated by Jared Lee are humorous tales about the rumors kids have passed around.

These books were another staple from my childhood! Upon re-reading this collection of four tales as an adult, I thought some of the tales stood up, but I would avoid one if I were to pass these on to future kiddos.

Take 30 seconds to honor this amazing teacher who is also my husband. You've never had an educator like him....he does Grinch impressions, teaches about Edgar Allen Poe to 3rd graders, teaches jazz improv to 5 year olds, and never accepts anything other than excellenc. Thank you!

BarbaraJean I've decided that "tough grader" generally equals "I don't like the grade I got" and has no real bearing on the quality or fairness of the grading. ? 8y

josie281 Just change the pen color to purple. It's happy. Then put a glitter sticker on each one. They will be confused. 8y

Today begins my one-month journey of filling in for a professor at my alma mater while he recovers from surgery. I used to teach high school, but ended up with such crippling anxiety that I couldn't leave the house without throwing up first. So this will be quite the adventure. Wish me luck! #TeachersOfLitsy
