Although the Court painter offers a plausible avowal of his own guilt in the murder of the royal art curator, Jane Bee, head housemaid at Windsor Castle, and her majestic employer suspect that the culprit lies closer to home. Original.

I'll go with Jane Bee as my favourite detective. A Canadian housemaid solving murders with the guidance and assistance of HM Queen Elizabeth II 😊

My favourite female character is Jane Bee, Canadian (woo! 🇨🇦) housemaid and occasional sleuth with the British royal family. She has a lively narrative voice and it is always fun to revisit her adventures. The only downside is that there are only three.

LauraBrook I've been looking for these for years - no luck! May have to break down and buy used online somewhere. 8y
rabbitprincess @LauraBrook They really need to be reprinted! Also the author needs to write ones about Holyroodhouse and Balmoral. Jane does make a cameo in his other series but it is not the Jane I know. 8y
