What should have been a tense adventure, is instead, a slow slog at times. There is great character growth and an interesting historical element.
What fun! Honestly, this book has just enough of everything: just enough impetus to justify Sarah‘s actions, just enough backstory on each kiddo to illustrate growth, and just enough unbelievable-ness to make it super fun! It‘s a perfectly balanced adventure wrapped in a mystery encased in heart. The Deltas are going places! 🧩
This middle grade booked peaked my interest. It was an entertaining story about three friends in the 7th grade who love escape rooms and take on an abandoned funhouse to find the rumored treasure and to help out of their families. The puzzles made sense and for some you could kind of play along. In addition the kids all learned things about each other and themselves. It is a great choice for kids who like puzzles and adventure. 4/5 stars!
Restocking day at my three little free libraries and found this in one of them.
I squealed in delight as this book is on my TBR list and I was planning on reading in May.

I enjoyed this middle grade book about 3 best friends (Sarah, West and Hannah) who break into an abandoned funhouse in search of a hidden treasure. Each room is filled with clues, puzzles and secret doors that must be solved to advance deeper into the house.
I think my 8 year old nephew would like it. He‘s a reader who is reading the Percy Jackson books right now and this would be a fun book for his next read.
