A fascinating foray into a world wrecked by chaos, explored through the experiences of a regular man in quite irregular circumstances. The writing style took some getting used to, but it was a satisfying read.

Well, I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it either. A garbageman turned assassin in a dystopian New York, who helps a girl escape her father who is an Evangelist set on creating a New Heaven, seems like a good story. It's dark and twisty, which I like, but the lack of proper punctuation to distinguish dialogue really drove me nuts. It was an interesting read, but nothing exciting. I doubt I pick up the next book in this series anytime soon.
I'm struggling a little with this one. It's just not holding my attention very well. Since we have thunderstorms all weekend, maybe I can manage to finish it up. At least since it's raining, Penny decided she'd keep me company while I read. 😁 #dogsoflitsy
Tried staring this dystopian novel last night, but my cat Penelope had other ideas. 😁 Now I'll try and get in a little reading time on my lunch break.
Reading this now. Very cool combo of assassin with a moral code mixed with matrix-y type stuff. If you get a chance, you should take a look at it.
Spademan used to be a garbage man. But that was before his family was killed. Now, he's a hitman. This dystopian story has been on my TBR for awhile. #thedangeroustype #rockinmay
My SO leaves his recently read books here in the hopes that I will read them soon. After 10 years of watching them stack up here, I think he realizes the peril of putting books into the never-ending TBR. Of course, he walks away with many, too! 😜#somethingborrowed #booktober
#TBT: Two years ago, I finished this. It was really enjoyable! Dystopian NYC is in tatters after a dirty bomb. The poor live on the streets while the wealthy can escape reality w/sophisticated virtual reality tech. Spademan, a hitman & former garbageman, is on a job after an evangelist, which he can't complete without tapping into the virtual reality network. It fuses sci-fi & noir w/reality to explore human nature, religion, & class constructs. ⛏

I won this one in a giveaway from Book Riot a while ago. I started and stopped several times because I just wasn't in the mood or because the lack of punctuation bothered me, but this time I finished it. Entertaining noir.
