I used to really like Emily Giffin‘s books. But her last book and now this one I find myself asking why am I wasting time with these people. Not sure which of us changed, but I‘m done. I did read 100 pages, about a third, but I still wasn‘t interested in the girl who finds her soon-to-be husband cheating and her two best friends from college.

This book was just ok for me. It hit on a few things that are current and made the story more realistic. It had some subtle political things that were pretty much spot on. It dealt with friendships and loss. Suicide and betrayal. Things that don't receive a lot of attention in books sometimes.

This was sort of a quality rollercoaster—stretches that were good, boring, unpleasant, [one year later], HEA. Between pick and so-so. [Full review to come . . . hopefully.]
It took me a minute to really connect with the characters, but once I did I did not want stop reading. This friendship story felt more like Giffin's earlier novels where you enter the character's world instead of the characters being part of current events.

This story begins with tragedy after one member in a foursome of BFFs dies by suicide, but then a sweet story of enduring friendships prevails. I really enjoyed reading it.
