Never Too Late
Never Too Late | Robyn Carr
7 posts | 8 read | 1 to read
#1 New York Times bestselling author Robyn Carr examines the lives of three sisters as they step beyond the roles of wife, mother, daughter and discover the importance of being a woman first Clare Wilson is starting over. She's had it with her marriage to a charming serial cheater. Even her own son thinks she's given his father too many chances. With the support of her sisters, Maggie and Sarah, she's ready to move on. Facing her fortieth birthday, Clare is finally feeling the rush of unadulterated freedom. But when a near-fatal car accident lands Clare in the hospital, her life takes another detour. While recovering, Clare realizes she has the power to choose her life's path. The wonderful younger police officer who witnessed her crash is over the moon for her. A man from her past stirs up long-buried feelings. Even her ex is pining for her. With enthusiasm and a little envy, her sisters watch her bloom. Together, the sisters encourage each other to seek what they need to be happy. Along the way they all learn that it's never too late to begin again. "A thought-provoking look at women...and the choices they make when they realize their lives aren't exactly what they expected--or thought they were." --Kirkus Reviews on Four Friends

Never is too late🤗Even though these are personal goals and we learned from 2020 that you can plan but life circumstances can change those plans, I wanted to share them with you. I want to read more from my tbr: books with me for a long time, books from subscriptions and books received from swaps. This year I really will like to read more nonfiction, classics and authors from Latin Americans, I have a stack of books. We‘ll see.

LeahBergen I like the “finish a series” goal. 👍🏻 3y
Gissy In my goal #5, I should include Iberoamérica to include Spain and Brazil. I have various books by authors from Spain. 3y
Gissy @LeahBergen I have so many series where I read only the first or second book and I own the books to complete the serie😱I need to discipline myself😳Last year, I accomplished this goal. I already complete one with the last book in the serie Winter by Elin Hilderbrand.

You can do it too!🤗 How many will you like to complete this year?

NEVER TOO LATE is about the bond between sisters, touching on subjects of infidelity, depression, and death. Each character is flawed and compelling, the story was engaging it was a bit slow in the beginning, but it wasn't long before you were emotionally invested and cheering on the cast of characters.

Spent my Friday off work knocking the first task off my public library's first #ExpandYourHorizons challenge. Using the online catalog, I typed in 'Maggie Carr' seeking an author I share my name with came across Robyn Carr and for self-awarded bonus points a main character with my first name too! Woop woop! One of the main male characters rubbed me the wrong way (he was awful in my opinion). The story line was slow but not terrible.

AmberWB Would that be Nappanee, Indiana? 5y
tournevis @AmberWB Not Napanea, Ont.? 5y
MaggieCarr @AmberWB yes, Nappanee, Indiana. Are you familiar with our little town? 5y

MaggieCarr @tournevis USA. I'm on staff at our public library and we get Canadians calling our library few times each month by mistake. Lol do you live in our "sister-city" as we loving refer to our Northern counterpart? 5y
AmberWB @MaggieCarr I grew up in La Porte, IN! I‘ve been to Nappanee many times! 😊😊 5y
MaggieCarr @AmberWB wow! Small world! I was born and raised here. Are you still in the area? 5y
tournevis @MaggieCarr Napanee is less than half-hour from Kingston where I work and I get a handful of students from there.every year. My husband interned at the jail there too. 5y

@CrowCAH Hey! I've been enjoying all the #PirateLife posts during May. And what do you know, on 6/1, while cleaning I find Pirates by John Matthews. Not in the Litsy database. 2006 Book has pics and nifty envelopes that have loose pieces (like treasure map and playing cards). Cover has a red jewel for eye. I also found movie posters (from theatre) for POC movies. If you want book and posters, they're yours. I'll bring them when we do lunch. ☠️☠️☠️

CrowCAH OMG 😲 that's amazing! Yes, I would love to add the book to the pirate books/shelf! And POTC movie posters 😁 Glad you enjoyed the posts! What day were you thinking for lunch? 7y
Wife Wednesday 6/7 or Monday 6/12? 7y
mrsamandahood That's so cool! My husband and I are obsessed with the POC movies! I've been looking at finding posters. Where did you get yours? At a theater? 😊 7y

My first standalone by Robyn Carr. I love her Thunder Point series. Strong focus here on friendship, the bond between sisters, and picking yourself back up after life throws curveballs. I thought I had figured out this ending early but I was wrong!

Suz4AU0608 I loved this too! Have you read her Virgin River series? 8y
intothehallofbooks @Suz4AU0608 I haven't started the Virgin River books yet but I want to! 8y
