I‘ve been pretty disenchanted with Scarpetta the last few novels but this feels like the Scarpetta of old.
I‘ve been pretty disenchanted with Scarpetta the last few novels but this feels like the Scarpetta of old.
It is so satisfying to revisit characters crafted by an author that you‘ve read for years. They‘re so familiar; like spending time with old friends. In Cornwell‘s latest, Kay Scarpetta is investigating the death of an old flame who was apparently dropped from a UPA into an abandoned theme park. All the usual folk are helping: Marino, Lucy and Benton. The archenemy, back from the grave, Carrie Gretchen threatens. An enjoyable read.
Another great novel by Patricia Cornwell. Autopsies often talk to the coroner and the current ones are connecting dead bodies. Kay Scarpetta is searching for the missing pieces. What do a little girl and a scientist have in common? Why? How to find answers leads Kay and her staff on quite the search. I enjoyed the mysteries and Kay‘s journey to find the truth. 4.5/5
Once again, Patricia Cornwell has completely captured me. These novels are never better than when Kay Scarpetta is recovering a weird dead body. Is one of her greatest enemies back in play? The Wizard of Oz, UFOs (?), fake moon dust, secret government facilities, mysterious occurrences. The whole wonderful, familiar cast of characters. And an ending that ties everything up and is pretty satisfying. I want more! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
It‘s been a while since I‘ve read Kay Scarpetta. This is pretty good
