Quite a long day for me, so it‘s a late dinner this evening. Well worth the wait though, homemade minestrone soup.🥣 I‘m pairing it w/ one of my current reads. I‘ve been back & forth between the physical book & the audio - it‘s crunch time, since my book group is Thursday!! I‘m loving the world of academia, & Oates always has the best descriptions especially for the absurd/grotesque. There was one part, in particular, that made me laugh out loud!

How I feel for the rest of this weekend!! This book takes a bit to get through, it doesn't capture your attention in a fast pace like a normal thriller or horror story. But it is a beautifully written piece that show's a woman's decent into her own madness, her decent into her past that she struggled so hard to forget, and the struggle to hang onto a life that was condemned to a death sentence from the begining.

If you have the patience, this is a good read. Beautifully written, Joyce Carol Oates has a way with making you understand so completely the complex feelings of a character. And my cat Cecil says this book is...a-paw-roved....I'll see myself out 😆

A couple of fast picks at Barnes and Noble today. Never hears of the top one by Nick Belardes, but it sounds pretty interesting. Couldn't find it listed on here though.

Nope. Life is too short for me to struggle through this ghost story.
