#AmongTheGods @AkashaVampie #Egyptian

I probably would have enjoyed this more had I realized it was part of a series before I started it. It's an epic historic adventure that has lots of backstory involving Egyptian culture. I was lost a bit in the story, probably because I was reading it out of order. 😉 I'll definitely have to try the first one sometime.

#BookSpinBingo @TheAromaofBooks

TheAromaofBooks I hate it when a book isn't obviously a part of a series until I'm like a third of the way in and trying to figure out why not everything makes sense! 😆 3y
Addison_Reads @TheAromaofBooks I thought I was missing something in the book and kept going back to re-read sections. Then, I finally looked it up online and realized it was book 6 in a series. 3y
AkashaVampie great job with #AmongTheGods challenge. Sorry it wasnt great! 3y
Addison_Reads @AkashaVampie It's made me want to start at the beginning of the series though, so that's a good thing. More books for my endless TBR. 😀 3y
AkashaVampie @Addison_Reads haha. Good way to look at it. Hopefully it doesn't ruin the other books for u. 3y

I enjoyed the overarching story, but the narrator is a self righteous, privileged, egocentric man who tells the story almost as a backdrop to his own superior qualities. It was easy enough to read and if you can look past the narrator, it is a good story.

I give up.
The narrator is awful, he is saved from death but is more interested in complaining about the color of the clothes he is given. The women are basically described as "She breasted boobily"
This could be a good book, but the narrator is stuck too far up his own genitals.
I give up.

Eyelit She breasted boobily?? 🙄 what even? 🤣 I‘d give up on that too! (edited) 6y
Emilymdxn I hate books where the narrator forgets to tell you about the story cause they‘re too interested in random complaints and reasons they‘re so fascinating 🙄 6y
EllanaRose @Eyelit - A while ago there was a twitter thing about how male authors describe women in their books. @Emilymdxn - Same, but I've been reading books lately that have had good narrators, ones that actually tell the story. This one? Ugh. 6y
