I️ run a fun Facebook group of book lovers and recently started asking (almost) daily questions on there. Folks are loving it, so I️ thought I‘d post them here too!

Today‘s question is...

Do you request ARCs or do you prefer to just wait until the book is released?

ErickaS_Flyleafunfurled I request ARCs, but try not to overdo it! 6y
Drnkpnkprincess I‘ve never requested ARCs, but would love to start — I think I‘ve been “offered” them twice (not including botm prereleases).... 6y
BriKie Nope, I have a large enough TBR that adding ARCs would be overwhelming. 6y

AmyG No. But I don‘t even know where to request them. ;) 6y
OffTheBeatenShelf.com @ErickaS_Flyleafunfurled same here. It‘s so hard when you get a bunch where the books all come out at the same time, though! 6y
OffTheBeatenShelf.com @BriKie I️ hear that! 6y
OffTheBeatenShelf.com @Drnkpnkprincess @AmyG NetGalley is a good place to get them. I️ also like befriending authors, publishers, and publicists because then I️ can ask for what I️ want and I‘m less likely to get turned down. 😜 (edited) 6y
AmyG @OffTheBeatenShelf.com Thank you. I shall have to poke around there. 6y

1. About 10 hours. Less during Summer Break tho 😑
2. Prefer print, but in reality ebooks end up being more practical for me. 🤷‍♀️
3. Memoir, Nonfiction
4. Romance, Fantasy
5. When new books have deckled edges 🙄
6. Reading is how I self-regulate. ✌️
7. I have never read the Harry Potter series.

GypsyKat Yours is the second confession I've seen about not reading Harry Potter. As a bit of a Potterhead, it always surprises me to hear this. 🙃 7y
MatchlessMarie @GypsyKat A part of it is when the books first came out I was a kid and they were kind of considered taboo growing up in a conservative evangelical family. I decided about 2 years ago that I want to give them a try, but haven't gotten around to it. Mostly because I'm salty about not being able to get Fry on audio in the US 😜 7y
